2012 Superlite Coupe

The Superlite SL-C was designed and engineered by a small group of dedicated engineers, designers and craftsmen. It never passed through a committee, and we didn’t make any Powerpoints while it was in the process of creation. That’s because we only needed to answer to our own vision of what the perfect Supercar would be.

For consignment, a Superlite SLC kit car which was put together by our consignor who was a machinist for the pharmaceutical industry, and states that this car has medical grade tanks, hydraulics and chambers! Designed from the ground up, this car uses only Superlite custom machined parts for the suspension, frame and fiberglass body. No previously used parts are necessary for the build as Superlite takes care of it all. Our consignor/builder went the extra mile due to he had access to materials the normal machinist wouldn’t have so right down to the marine grade wiring this car is bulletproof! He says you could drive it in the ocean, and it will still work, swimmingly?! And it’s all street legal.

Exterior

Beautifully sculpted fiberglass makes up the exterior of the car and it is bathed in eye- catching red. From the enclosed headlights to the bubble cockpit and beyond to the carbon fiber rear spoiler, it is looking much like a Daytona prototype race car. Lambo hinged doors have aircraft wrap around the roof edges and fit the body like gloves. The entire rear shell of the car lifts for engine access and actually has a hinged air intake from the rear of the car, which is of course medical grade stainless steel. On top of the bulbous roof line is an air intake which stuffs air directly to the mill to help with cooling. Other air dams and intakes are seen throughout the car including the custom side exhaust with stainless steel bezels molded to fit the body. On all 4 corners are HRE 3-piece wheels which are track and street rated and are wrapped in front 275/35 ZR18 99W tires and on the back 325/30 ZR19 105Y all season tires. Calling Fernando Alonso…

Interior

It may be a race car but do not be fooled you will not be wanting for any conveniences with this baby. It sports dual electrical systems, one to just run the engine and the second to run the A/C, heat, navi, instruments and gauges. Kirkey Aluminum race seats are shoehorned within the cockpit and are flanked by wide aluminum threshold sills. The dash is made up of 2 eyebrow cowls which shade a round tachometer with a digital shift indicator complete with a shift light. In the center under the second eyebrow is a round gauge cluster to keep track of water, volts, oil and the fuel level. A few buttons pulls and toggles are in the dash panel that lowers to the center console. Here a short shift lever resides along with a horizontal glove box which doubles as an armrest. We can see eyeball vents for the heat and ac. Right down to the windshield washer, I told you, you would not be wanting for any conveniences! Fronting the dash is an F1 style Modo steering wheel. Some gray fiberglass panels are on the floors, and all this exists within a strong steel tube roll cage. Nothing like going 100 plus MPH and having the A/C on!

Drivetrain

In mid car is a Chevrolet LS3 6.2 Liter custom built at the Chevrolet race division. It is fed with EFI and has a Porsche G50 6-speed manual transmission on back. A mechanical work of art with braided stainless hoses and high voltage wiring. All with an aluminum tube frame structure. The rear axle is driven by an OS Giken differential by G-box. The front of the car lifts forward and reveals an electric fan, aluminum radiator, and fluid reservoirs.

Undercarriage

Lots of aluminum for all the custom machined suspension from billet aluminum and framing as well as a few fiberglass ground effects panels. There is electric power assist steering which is a race type with adjustable power levels. Even with all the amenities this car only weighs 2,800 lbs!

Drive-Ability

A track performer and a daily driver that will not rattle your teeth when on a bumpy back road. Seating is comfy, amenities all work. Power to spare on acceleration and handling like it’s on rails. Plenty of interior room, and a surprisingly smooth driver and cruiser.

Our consignor/builder is a talented craftsman which takes some skilled hands to be custom fabricating for the Pharmaceutical industry and has been certified to weld aircraft parts. You are getting a quality build which was tested on a racetrack, everything was buttoned up then it went on the road. You WILL be the only one in the neighborhood that has one, and I can tell you for free it has a LOT of eyes on it in our showroom.
