OVERVIEW
Legend has it that Ferruccio Lamborghini, a wealthy Italian industrialist who made his fortunes building tractors and farm equipment, was once an avid Ferrari enthusiast and Ferrari owner. Frustrated at the lack of service and correspondence replies regarding his Ferrari, he drove the car to the Ferrari factory and parked outside demanding to speak with founder, Enzo Ferrari. The men argued as only Italians can, arms flailing, voices approaching operatic levels. Finally, Enzo threw down the gauntlet stating that all the problems with Ferruccio’s Ferrari were due to his poor driving skills “What do you know about sports cars. This is not a tractor”. Furious, Ferruccio abandoned the Ferrari threatening Enzo “I’ll show you what a real sports car should be like”. And thus, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. was born.
Since inception in 1963, Lamborghini has built some of the most impressive high-performance sports cars the world has ever known. Innovators in mid-engine designs, Lamborghini stunned the world with the unveiling of the Miura in 1966 and again with the shocking Countach in 1974. Suffice it to say, throughout their decades of advancement, Lamborghini has been a leader in supercar development, never resting on their robust past achievements, always moving into the next century offering the very best in high-performance sports cars.
Following on the heels of the highly successful V12 Murcieleago, Lamborghini unveiled the remarkable flagship successor, the Aventador, in 2011. Consistent with decades of tradition for all Lamborghini models, the Aventador was named after a Spanish fighting bull. Within days of debut, orders came flooding in for the 6.5 liter V12 powered rocket ship. Capable of reaching 60 mph in 2.9 seconds and a ¼ mile time of 10.5 seconds, one of the first examples tested achieved a 217 mph top speed via all-wheel drive and 7-speed transmission. Remarkable performance numbers to be sure, but also setting top speed track test records, proving the handling and braking were among the best in the industry. Contemporary press celebrated the amazing power and performance of the Aventador but lauded it equally as one of the best cars Lamborghini ever built in part due to the ease of use, smooth power output, and surprising “livability”, a trait formerly unheard of in such a high performance supercar. In 2011, “Top Gear” awarded the Aventador “Supercar of the Year”.
This Aventador is a two-owner Western Washington example assembled in October 2012 and delivered from the factory finished in Nero Aldebaran (Black) and trimmed with Marrone Elpis (Brown) interior. The following factory options are featured on this car:
Lamborghini Branding Package
19” Front 20” Rear Gloss Black Alloy Wheels
Yellow Rear Suspension Springs
Transparent Engine Bonnet
Lamborghini Sensonum Premium Sound
Unicolor Interior with Red Contrast Stitching
Homelink w/Anti-Theft and Interior Monitoring
Purchased new and then purchased by the current owner in 2018 from Lamborghini Bellevue, the current owner has serviced the car regularly and the accumulated miles are chronologically consistent as reflected in the clean Carfax. A helpful integrated Escort radar detector unit with laser avoidance system has been thoughtfully added to the car. Most recently, a $7,000 service has been performed with Lamborghini Seattle at 3,457 miles in May 2022.
With a mere 3,500 miles showing, this spectacular Aventador presents essentially as new in every respect. The paintwork is vivid and glossy throughout with deep glossy factory applied black paint. The entire car has been professionally finished with a protective ceramic coating and the front areas are protected with professionally applied clear PPF (Paint Protection Film). Additionally, the front underside of the car features the aftermarket Scrape Armor pieces to protect on steep driveways. Other than a few typical minor scuff marks on the forward facing film, the car remains unmarked throughout the exterior. The lighting and glass are clear and crisp with excellent detailing and quality finishes. The beautiful gloss black alloy wheels are in excellent condition showing no curb marks or edge damage to the optional 19” front and 20” rear wheels wearing Pirelli P Zero performance tires. The emblems, logos, and design details are in exceptional condition, once again, appearing essentially as new. The angular Filippo Perini body was designed with crisp and crystalline surface architecture that echo many of the great Lamborghini designs of the past but still evoke a brimming future. The wicked stance is further enhanced by the black finish, black wheels, and unbelievably low profile. The mid-mounted V12 engine can be delightfully viewed from the outside, courtesy of the optional clear view engine cover.
Lifting the upward swinging scissor doors, the interior is uniquely finished in chocolate brown leather with red stitching. The color contrast is beautifully presented particularly as a daring accent to the stealthy black exterior. The leather seats, center console, and dashboard are subtly enhanced by red stitching which matches many of the dashboard illuminated lights and features. Consistent with the 3,500 miles indicated, there are no visible signs of wear in any areas. Even the branded Aventador door sills are beautifully preserved. The technologically sophisticated dashboard features digital information, flanked by a central console screen, an array of switches, and the distinctive Lamborghini premium sound system. Handsomely trimmed and perfectly suited to the chiseled exterior, the angular yet comfortable interior design is a luxuriant performance partner for the power and audacity of the Aventador.
Viewable through the clear view engine bonnet, the engine compartment and 6.5-liter V12 engine have been regularly serviced and detailed, tending to fluids and systems. All factory engine markings and labels are in place and in excellent condition including the specific Lamborghini engine and drivetrain features all of which contributed to the Aventador being named by Top Gear as “Supercar of the Year”, 2011. The underside of the car is consistent in presentation, reflective of the miles indicated including the correct aerodynamic air management panels, contoured rear-end air diffusers, and factory suspension.
Behind the wheel of this Aventador the steering wheel, paddle shifters, and various hand controls are all easily accessible. The car starts with the press of a central switch, lighting off the V12 engine, ready for action. Driving position is both comfortable and ergonomically agreeable even when driving at a docile pace. Pressed into more urgent use, the Aventador bursts to action opening up a progressive howl of engine revs as speeds climbs to merely a third of its impressive capacity. Brakes and suspension are surprisingly robust even for this performance category, but both are very compliant even in urban traffic conditions.
Since its debut in 2011, the Lamborghini Aventador has confirmed what performance car enthusiasts have known for some time, Ferruccio Lamborghini was right. He had the passion and talent to challenge the best in the world. His legacy lives on in the Aventador, an example of superlative sports car design continuing to achieve excellence decades after his challenge at the Ferrari factory gates. For anyone seeking a beautifully maintained Aventador, this two-owner example is ready to deliver on the excellence, excitement, and jaw-dropping performance offered in this flagship Lamborghini.
