When we built this our aim was to keep the original look of the car but up grade suspension ,steering, performance, driveability, comfort, dependability. Mission accomplished !! We started off with a 32000 mile all original 318 automatic 68 barracuda, stripped it down to bear metal put on a rotisserie installed frame connectors 10 inches into the original sub frames and welded, then we primed the whole car with epoxy PPG primer and painted the bottom and engine compartment with the original white urethane. we than purchased a complete RMS AlterKtion front Viking coil over suspension with rack and pinion steering and Street-Lynx 4 link rear suspension with Viking coil overs and a new 9 inch rear with traction lock, custom drive shaft and tremack 5 speed transmission. The engine started off with a 1972 casting 426 Hemi block with a 4.25 forged stroker crank 7.1 inch rods and 10.5 to 1 Venola pistons .040 over for 488.7 CI. we topped it off with a single plane intake and Fast 2.0 fuel injection with a custom fuel tank with enclosed fuel injection pump. The cam is a custom Comp flat tappet with 612 intake and 614 exhaust lift and 255 degrees intake duration and 263 exhaust duration. The heads are ported Mopar Performance aluminum. It put out 636 HP on Dyno. The exhaust is all TTI with 2 1/8 headers with 3 inch exhaust all the way back. The front Serpentine system is all March. the radiator was custom built by Wizard cooling with 2 electric fans controlled by the Fast fuel injection. The brakes are all Wilwood disc with wilwood master cylinder. The clutch is  a dual disc Mc Cloud with hydraulic master cylinder. The instruments are all made by Classic gauges with a GPS speedometer. The seats are from a SRT Charger and have power recline. The car was a 2 year build by  Ballenger Power. In 1969 and early 1970 I worked for Don Grother when he raced professionally for Plymouth and when I finish a Build I normally take it over to him and let him test drive them that is why I posted his picture with his original Hemi Cuda and the white one. Don still enjoys taking a car out and getting after it. He was very impressed with this car and made the comment it ought to bring $150.000. I have this car in storage for the owner but have not driven it for a couple of months and took it out and put fresh gas in it today. I have been around cars all my life and have driven or rode in some really nice cars but nothing that was in the same class as this. It is the only car I have ever built where money was not the limiting factor on the build. It has raised the Bar extremely high for future builds!! Jim Ballenger. .   Look up Ballenger Power on face book for some of our other builds.
